PATTERN OF INHERITANCE

Most cases without structural brain abnormality are of unknown etiology, genetic etiology may still be possible but de novo acquired gene abnormalities are likely.

KNOWN GENES

No causative genes have yet been identified for cases without a structural brain abnormality.

FAMILY HISTORY OF SEIZURES/EPILEPSY

A family history of seizures or epilepsy is rare.
