FAMILIAL FOCAL EPILEPSY WITH VARIABLE FOCI

Background

The background EEG is normal.

Interictal

The interictal EEG shows focal (frontal, temporal, parietal or occipital) epileptiform abnormalities in most cases, in each individual in a family the focal area remains constant over time.

Activation

EEG abnormality is enhanced by sleep deprivation and in sleep.

Ictal

Ictal EEG demonstrates focal ictal patterns.
